The Washington Redskins 2014 Free Agent Signings Analysis

The Washington Redskins do enough in the off season to win the NFC East?  The Washington Redskins in-depth analysis of the free agents signed and players lost for the 2014 NFL season. Will these additions help The Washington Redskins turnaround their 2013 season and win the NFC East in 2014?

The Washington Redskins didn't have a first round pick in the draft so they relied heavily on signing free agents they would need to make it to the next level. After finishing the 2013 season with a dismal 3-13 record. Owner Dan Snyder dumped the crazed Mike Shanahan and hired Rookie NFL head coach Jay Gruden. His hiring started the complete turnaround for the Redskins and I think with their free agent signings coupled with a good draft, they may flip the script and win the NFC East. The Redskins traded down in the 2nd round and drafted a stud linebacker which is a direct challenge to the defense to upgrade their ability stopping the run. Read my article, 2014 Washington Redskins NFL Draft Report Card and Player Analysis and find out why I think the Redskins had a good draft day. The huge additions in the free agency were the signings of WRs DeSean Jackson and Andre Roberts and DT Jason Hatcher. OT Morgan Moses was a steal in the 3rd round and will help keep franchise QB RGIII healthy. The Redskins barely lost any star players in the off season and re-signed their own players making them a definite favorite to win the NFC East.

Can The Washington Redskins make it to the playoffs in 2014?

Absolutely!! They will make the playoff and I have a feeling will make a strong run. I love head coach Jay Gruden as a great football mind and he has a huge chip on his shoulder to prove that he can lead a winning team. The addition of WR DeSean Jackson with WR Pierre Garcon instantly makes them a tandem that can't be overlooked. With a strong running game, built on RBs Alfred Morris and Roy Helu, make the Redskins a threat to score on any drive. Can RGIII rebound from a terrible Sophomore year? That's the million dollar question. If not, QBs Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy are excellent backups.
