Marc Trestman who was born on March 24, 1976. He is the Head Coach for the Chicago Bears and been in the NFL since 2002. Marc coached in both the National Football League and the Canadian Football League.

Facts #1:


Marc Trestman in 5 seasons in the Canadian Football League coaching the Montreal Alouttes have won two CFL Championships in three appearances in the Grey Cup.



Facts #2:


Marc Trestman turned around the Montreal Alouttes. Before his arrival, they were 8-10 the season before and since he started coaching them they are 59-31with four divisional titles.



Facts #3:


Marc Trestman in 2002 was the Oakland Raiders offensive coordinator the year they reached the Super Bowl. It was also that year that QB Rich Gannon won the NFL MVP award and coached him from a 57.8 completion rate to an amazing 66.8 in two consecutive seasons.

Marc Trestman was also very successful when he was the San Francisco 49ers Offensive Coordinator. He coached the 49ers to be the #1 ranked offense in the NFL. He QBs under him had major success with Elvis Grbac achieving a 96.6 QBR and Steve Young twice achieving 92.3 and 97.2 which was the highest in the NFL in 1996.

Marc Trestman in 1998 helped the Cardinals make the playoffs for the first time in 16 years as QB coach and offensive coordinator. QB Jake Plummer was 9-7 with Marc as his Offensive coordinator and 21-45 with any other offensive coordinator. Must have been the shoes!

Marc Trestman took over the Montreal Alouttes and immediately identified and fixed a major problem. The season before Trestman took over, the Montreal QB, Anthony Calvillo was dropping back 5 steps. Trestman shortened that o three steps and the QB instantly became an overnight success. Went from getting sacked 68 times to 22. Threw 43 TD passes as opposed to 17 the year before and was named the Canadian Football MVP.

Marc Trestman is a God to QBs. He can take any QB and make them an all-star. Montreal QB Anthony Calvillo had an average passer rating of 94.9 before Trestman took over. Since then and at age 36 and for the next three years, Calvillo's passer rating has been: 107.2,108.4 and 108.1. He has thrown for 101 TDs and only 26 INTs under Trestman. That's a yearly average of 20.2 TDs and 5.2 INTs.

Marc Trestman has many achievements in his first year coaching many teams. Some of these amazing achievements are: Immediately making the NFL playoffs in his firs year, he has done that with the Cleveland Browns in 1988, San Francisco 49ers in 1995, the Detroit Lions in 1997, The Arizona Cardinals in 1998, and the Oakland Raiders in 2001. He also went to he Grey Cup in the CFL in his first year coaching them.

Marc Trestman recruited Seattle Seahawk QB Russell Wilson to North Carolina State. But he never got o coach him because Head Coach Chuck Amato was fired.

Marc Trestman is the only active Jewish Head Coach in the NFL. He finished his first season coaching the Chicago Bears to an 8-8 record but totally revamped their offense in one season. If not for the mid-season injury to Jay Cutler, The Bears would have won the NFC North.
