Andy Reid who was born on March 19, 1958 in Los Angeles, California. He is the Head Coach for the Kansas City Chiefs and has been coaching in college since 1982 and in the NFL since 1992.

Andy Reid grew up in Los Angeles, where he worked the summers as a vendor at the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball games at Dodger Stadium.

Andy Reid at age 13 participated in the “Monday Night Football Punt, Pass, and Kick” competition.



Facts #3:


Andy Reid played defensive end and offensive guard for Brigham Young University and graduated with a bachelor and masters degree. He met his wife Tammy at BYU and converted to Mormonism in 1979.

Andy Reid from 1982 to 1991 coached in the college ranks as an offensive line coach at: Brigham Young University, San Francisco State University, Northern Arizona University, University of Texas at El Paso, and University of Missouri.

Andy Reid was hired for his first coaching job in the NFL as an offensive assistant for the Green Bay Packers in 1992 to 1994. In 1995, he was promoted and worked for two seasons as the offensive line coach. In 1997 he was promoted to assistant coach and Quarterback coach after the Packers won Super Bowl XXXI beating the New England Patriots 35-21.

Andy Reid was hired to be the Head Coach of the Philadelphia Eagles in 1999 and remained until 2012.

Andy Reid coached the Eagles to four consecutive Conference Championship games from 2001 to 2004. They only advanced to the Super Bowl once during this four year run, playing in Super Bowl XXXIX and losing to the New England Patriots, 24-21.

Andy Reid in his enure with the Philadelphia Eagles sent 19 different players to 44 Pro Bowl appearances. None of these players were ever elected to the Pro Bowl prior to Reid's arrival.

Andy Reid cumulative record for his 14 years with the Eagles was 130-93-1. He coached them to five trips to the NFC Championship game, won six Division Titles, recorded a 10-9 playoff record and one Super Bowl appearance.

Andy Reid was hired by the Kansas City Chiefs on January 4, 2013 signing a 5 year deal. He took over a terrible Chiefs team that finished the 2012 season with only two wins. Andy Reid did the unthinkable leading the Chiefs to a blazing 9-0 2013 season start only to fizzle out and finish 11-5 and losing to the Indianapolis Colts giving up a halftime lead of 28 points, losing by one point 45-44. The game is historic as it features one of the best comebacks in NFL history. Too bad Andy Reid was on the wrong side of history here.
