Doug Marrone was an offensive lineman for Syracuse University from 1983-1985.

Doug Marrone played two years in the NFL with he Miami Dolphins and the New Orleans Saints. He finished his professional career as a player with the World league in Europe playing for the London Monarchs in 1991-1992.

Doug Marrone spent ten years coaching a various colleges and and varying positions. Starting in 1992, he coached Cortland State, Coast Guard, Northeastern University, Georgia Tech, University of Georgia and the University of Tennessee. He coached primarily the offensive line and the Tight End position since a blocking TE is an extension of the OL.

Doug Marrone first job inn the NFL as a coach was with the New York Jets who hied him in 2002 to be their offensive line coach. He stayed with the Jets thru the 2005 season when The New Orleans Saints offered him the job as Offensive Coordinator in 2006 and he stayed thru 2008.
