The Philadelphia Eagles do enough in the off season to reclaim the NFC East? The Philadelphia Eagles in-depth analysis of the free agents signed and players lost for the 2014 NFL season. Will these additions help The Philadelphia Eagles improve on their 2013 season and get them back to the NFL playoffs in 2014?
The Philadelphia Eagles had a magical season in 2013 going from a dismal 4-12 2012 season to 10-6 with a playoff berth under rookie coach Chip Kelly. The Philadelphia Eagles lost by two points in the first round to the New Orleans Saints. New QB Nick Foles, definite momentum and confidence that Chip Kelly's game plan can work in the NFL may be enough for them to revisit success in 2014. Lots of off season drama contributed to a circus like atmosphere with DeSean Jackson being released for supposed “Gang Affiliations.” Michael Vick wasn't tendered an offer, so he went to the New York Jets in free agency. WR Jason Avant left for he Carolina Panthers. I didn't like the draft The Philadelphia Eagles put together. Read my article, 2014 Philadelphia Eagles NFL Draft Report Card and Player Analysis and see what I thought hey should have done.

Can The Philadelphia Eagles make it back to the playoffs in 2014?
I think the Eagles can make it back to the playoffs but I don't see them making it far. They lost too much in the off season and haven't made up for the loss of WR DeSean Jackson. Former Jets QB, Mark Sanchez isn't their answer at back up. I think Michael Vick would have been an awesome back up and could instantly come into a game and the Eagles wouldn't miss a beat. Getting FS Malcolm Jenkins to patrol center-field coupled with CB Nolan Carroll and FS Chris Maragos adds immediate depth and upgrades a porous secondary. First round draft pick DeMarcus Lawrence should help them on defense and WRs Jordan Mathews and Josh Huff will look to fill the shoes of DeSean Jackson. I think the Eagles regret the DeSean Jackson release and regress to an 8-8 schedule and may make he wild card but the Redskins own the NFC East now and no much anyone else is going to do to change that.
