The beach job is too dangerous and that is a really serious job, not for teenagers looking to have a fun summer. Find a gig at a local community pool and you are in heaven. Bathing suit clad teens that you are paid to watch and protect. You will think you died and went to heaven. Besides all the chances to blow your whistle at the hot ones, you will find many parties after hours hosted by the older lifeguards. I worked at a community pool as a teenager in the summer, trust me I know.
Ride operator at Six flags amusement
A little bit more regimented summer workplace because of the focus of park safety but plenty of opportunity to meet plenty of the opposite sex and get some sunshine. No doubt being around people having a good time makes for a really fun place to work. People aren't stressed, they came for a good time and good times are infectious. Being a teenager and working at an amusement park will make the summer fly by in what seemed to be a month long.
Movie theaters
Great choice in summer employment for teens is at the local movie theater complexes. Doesn't matter where you work inside the theater because this job will let you meet all your friends from school, meet new kids from other areas of the city and before you know it, you will know everyone in town and more importantly they will know you. You also get to see the new summer releases for free and let your friends in without paying. If I was a teenager I would run and put my application for this ideal job for a teenager in the summer.
Sleepaway camp counselor
We all saw the movies and know that some fun stuff happens at sleep away camps especially for the camp counselors. A summer away from home making money puts this job on the list as one of the best summer jobs for a teenager. I never had this type of job and know that if there is reincarnation, I am gonna pray hard now that I get a shot in my second life.
